Working abroad....

Have been takling to a good friend of mine working at Microsoft, Redmond for the last 45 mins on Yahoo messenger. He'd brought up this rather interesting question. He asked, "Why don't you try finding a job in the US?". Yes, why don't I want to do it? The reasons that I can think of for not doing it till now are..
a) i don't like working abroad... or rather i like staying back and working in india...
b) working in india would mean i am staying closer to my family (parents, sister and brother)... but Delhi also is far from home.... is it as good as staying abroad?
Money... yeah.. working in the US means earning in dollars. that definitely means a looooot of money. But, am I not happy with what I make working at Adobe? Is it only money that keeps me happy? Maybe not... I am sure Adobe is one of the very few companies in India where you can do some quality work... at least i am happy with the work I do here most of the times...
so why should I move to the US? better life...? i do not have big complaints with my life in India...

Am thoroughly confused... need to think about this and decide whether i really want to work in the US or not.....

Blue skies at Dharamshala...

Photos from Dharamsala trip...

Picture of a monk I clicked during my recent trip to Dharamsala. This is the first time I clicked on slides. Even though shooting on slides is a little heavy on my pocket, the colors came out really amazing on slides. But the scanned slides didn't come out that well. Need to photoshop them. This is one of the better shots I got from on those slides.

Weekend again...

November 26th... today is my sister's birthday. Got up today at around 12-20pm (this i guess is because of winters or because of my stupid habit of sleeping late), wished Manju, my sister and came to office around 1pm. Was supposed to attend a talk 12 pm on RSS and Blogging by Jim King (James C King) who is a Principal Scientist at Adobe. missed the talk because i've overslept.
Need to correct my sleeping habits....
couldn't do much work today because of meeting about the future project we are going to work on and discussion about the plan for Photoshop Elements 3.0 ship trip. As of now we are going to Corbett National Park during 11 and12th december. have to see if the trip finally materializes or not..... Planning to go home now and watch Mr. and Mrs. Iyer...

Update: 2am in the morning... I Just finished watching the movie Mr. and Mrs. Iyer. An amazing movie... Have been thinking of watching this movie for some time but thanks to Alex (Alex Stepanov) for recommending this movie. One of the best indian movies i've seen so far. A love story set in the backdrop of a communal strife, makes you wonder why people kill or die for the sake of religion. Something I really fail to understand and I guess I do not want to...The sequences of rioteering savagery shown in the movie are cruelly disturbing.

some words of wisdom picked up from the beginning of the movie...

for what shall i wield a dagger, o lord?
what can i pluck it out of
or plunge it into
when you are all the world?

Bungee Jump........

Kiran (myself), Jags and Rithesh after the bungee jump...

Fantastic weekend... Bungee Jumping and a trip to Dharamshala...

It has been quite sometime since I updated this blog. Got a 4day extended weekend from 11 to 14th Nov (Thursday to Sunday) because of Deepavali. Friends working in other companies had a holiday on Monday (for Eid) instead of thrusday.

Went for bungee jumping on thursday. It was an amazing experience. For a moment before I jumped, I wondered why the heck am I doing this. Jumping from a bungee cage at 140 feet high was definitely a nice way to start the weekend. I will try to post some photos later.

On thursday night, 6 of us (Jags, Jagan, Sid, Baishakhi, Amit and I) have set out on a road trip to Dharamshala, the current home of His Holiness Dalai Lama. We hired a Toyota Qualis for this trip. Stayed at Varuni's Hotel at Mc Leod Gunj (Upper Dharamshala). Did a one day trekking trip to Triund. Back in Delhi around 4am on monday morning. We carried 5 cameras for this trip and clicked close to 800 photos. (4 digital and one film camera). Will try upload the photos along with a travelouge this weekend....
