Another weekend....

Another weekend... a good 2 day break from work. not that I have been working very hard on the weekdays. anyways, i spend most of my time in front of the computer be it at work or at home. in a way weekdays are better when i move out from the workplace and play volley ball.... :)
Got up early on saturday morning as I had to get some work done at the bank... In the evening jags, mohit and i went to meet Alex and Mat at Radisson. now that the 2 week long training is over they are going back. Alex is going to china to give talks at universities in china along with Bjarne (yup, the C++ creator :) ) and Mat is heading home for a sabbatical.
So... we met Alex and Mat at the lobby and went out for a walk with them in Sector 18. visited quite a few shops... alex bought a few books by rk narayan, some supari (he wants to learn how to make paan), a gift for his dog etc... we took them to The good things store and bought kurtas for both of them. had dinner at radisson with them and talked about a variety if things ranging from food, chickoos, indian marriages, indian movies etc... Alex's knowlegde about anything and everything is really amazing be it about data structures and algorithims or be it about india... in fact on of the greatest minds/gurus i had come across...

started writing this on sunday afternoon... had to stop posting it because of a powercut in noida. these days the powercut starts at 8-30am sharp and goes on till evening... thankfully sunday was spared except for a cut for a couple of hours in the evening... went to office on sunday evening. got a mail from adobe congratulating me for working for the company for 5 years... (i am still 6 months away from my 5th anniversary at this company) and asked me to select a gift... from the list of items available i have shortlisted a Nikon® Binoculars, a Bushnell® Telescope or a Coleman 12x10 sun dome tent. still haven't decided on the gift...

5 years at work.... learnt a lot of new things and yes forgot a lot of things learnt at school. I think it is the time to start revising the things learnt at school/college... ;)

have been spending time these days reading up about photography and participating in online photography forums. here is a link to a good photog site i'd come across http://www.gormanphotography.com/gorman.html
